frozen memory

Frozen Memory

I'm remembering the winter
The grass covered over by white
The leaves long since living
Remembering how the cold breeze would brush through my hair
It seems like years since I last held hands with the falling snow,
Or you
How I so wish I could go back
And stop time in that moment
When our lips first brushed against one another’s
While the wind played our song.

The night skies have told our story since then
Each chilled breeze bringing back those few precious minutes
When life was actually living
And nothing but the frozen winter
Could hold us back.
